I’m an interior design expert and here are my top organization tips if you live in a tiny house.
AN interior design expert has revealed her favorite tips for saving space in a tiny home.
Kristen McGowan from the United States thinks anyone can get their house working without having to spend a fortune.
She said these hacks will help maximize the space you are in and use it to its fullest potential with these small but effective hacks.
The first hack Kristen recommends is to buy pull-out cup hooks for the inside of your kitchen cupboard.
She said: “This might be my favorite hack, I think they look so cute, it looks more organized and it saves a ton of space.”
This provides more space for bowls or plates while keeping your mugs out of sight and the best part is that they are tenant friendly.
Another great tip she shares if you have a small kitchen is to get a compact cutlery organizer so you can store your utensils and cutlery in one drawer.
Having items on your counters can feel messy, especially if you already have a small space.
Kristen suggests using a collapsible drying rack that you can hang over your sink if you’re already short on surface space.
The rack can be put away after use and it doesn’t take up space on your countertops.
Another effective way to organize your kitchen is to use baskets under your refrigerator shelves.
They work the same way as cup hooks and create an extra shelf in your fridge so it’s easier to find the foods you want.
If you live in a small house or apartment, you know how irritating it can be to constantly pull out your drying rack.
But Kristen has found a nifty device that can be used to dry your clothes and hang other items without getting in the way.
Using a tension rod, which she bought from IKEA, she can hang things almost anywhere and she doesn’t have to drill them into the walls.
Kristen uses hers to create extra space to dry her clothes as well as under her sink to store cleaning items.
Another option is to get a collapsible laundry hamper if you’re tired of it lying around the house and you have nowhere to put it.
A very simple hack shared by Kristen is on door hooks, Kristen uses two to store her ironing board which doesn’t take up extra space in your home.
Finally, Kristen suggests making more room in your closet by using thin velvet hangers instead of plastic ones for maximum storage space.
Viewers loved her ideas, with one writing, “Simply awesome, Kristen! The coffee mug holder and compact cutlery organizer are definitely my favorites.”
“This roll-up dish drainer is definitely going to be a great solution for me!” Another viewer commented.
A third said: “Amazing storage hacks! Definitely doing this in my small apartment.”
For more stunning home makeovers, this savvy couple transformed a dull kitchen into a dreamy space using IKEA’s £1.75 bargains and it was SO easy to do.
