Islamabad, May 5 (SocialNews.XYZ) PTI leader and former Pakistani minister Shireen Mazari, in a letter to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, pointed to the decision of the Shehbaz Sharif government to appoint Rana Sanaullah as Minister of ‘Interior, media reported.
Mazari, who was human rights minister in Imran Khan’s government, claimed that the government led by Shehbaz Sharif had appointed an “ally of terrorist groups” and a suspected killer as interior minister, reports The news.
The PTI leader also claimed that Sanaullah, who is a “defendant” in the Model Town case, is using the “religion card” against his political rivals.
State Minister for Petroleum, Dr. Musadik Malik, while commenting on the matter, said Mazari did not write a letter but sent an “appeal” to the UN to “rescue” the PTI, according to the report.
“The United States is conspiring and a request has been sent to the United Nations. Wow, what a conspiracy,” Malik said. He also asked on what basis the PTI leaders “appealed” to the UN.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was sworn in last month after Imran Khan was ousted through a vote of no confidence.
Following his swearing in, Prime Minister Shehbaz inducted 33 people into his cabinet, including Rana Sanaullah.
After Sanaullah was sworn in, he was appointed Minister of the Interior.
Since taking office, the PTI has claimed that the incumbent government will launch a campaign against them. However, PML-N, which leads the coalition government, denied it would.
